IronHand: Amazon for Blacksmiths
Iron hand provides on-demand work for anyone in need of a blacksmith or metal products. Our system allows users to schedule an at-home appointment for a blacksmith to come and either repair or build on-site. When scheduling an appointment, users specify whether they want a product to be built on-site or for an existing product to be repaired by a blacksmith. Users will be able to see which blacksmiths are available in their area for the selected date and time and can view what each blacksmith specializes in and also look at reviews given by previous customers.
Alternatively, we also provide a delivery system similar to Amazon which specializes in selling metal products such as iron or steel to blacksmiths. Our service and delivery is a 5-day guarantee (2 day with Iron Hand Prime) and we will host several warehouses throughout the country in order to give users a quick way to return or pick up products if they choose. Our online platform will also provide information on which tools are best suited for building certain products and give suggestions for what other products would pair well with what the user has already put in his/her cart.

HIGH-FIDELITY PROTOTYPE
Our prototype is designed to work through screen taps by the user. We chose to utilize this function throughout the application to keep the design consistent and simple for users to become familiar with. When first opening the application, a login/sign up screen appears where the “sign up” button can be tapped. On the next screen, the user is prompted to enter credentials which there user can type in upon tapping the text boxes beneath “email” and “password”. After tapping “sign up”, the view fades into the IronHand home screen. In order to view the home screen, a user must either sign in or create an account. On the top left hand corner of the home screen is 3 bars next to the search bar. It is assumed that through user knowledge of other application interfaces, the user will know that this button will open a menu. Once tapped, the home screen slides to the right and a sidebar menu appears on the left containing a list of the main functions of our app such as ‘Shop by Category’ and ‘Trending Deals’. We decided to implement a sidebar so that our users can easily access the functionalities we provide without overcrowding the home screen view. If the user wants to return to the home screen after viewing the sidebar menu, the three bars can be tapped again. The simple yet purposeful functionalities in our prototype are make our design user-friendly.
